Advertising creativePrepare for a life of combining creativity and commerce. Students receive a strong overview of the advertising process, which provides an understanding of the strategy, research, and other functions necessary for effective advertising.

Art educationVisual expression meets social responsibility in this program. As an integrated, compound discipline, art education requires intensive training in studio art and art history while also reaching beyond art and education for its resources.

Art history and visual cultureStudents of art history and visual culture investigate the production, form, and reception of images and objects, past and present, from a multicultural perspective. The program incorporates painting, sculpture, architecture, and beyond.

Arts and humanitiesCombine the advantages of a small college experience with the opportunities of a Big Ten research university. RCAH is home to individuals pursuing an arts and humanities major with diverse interests, skills, and talents.

Arts and letters – exploratoryStudents of this program explore a wide array of subject areas, including the creative and performing arts, digital media, film, languages, writing, and women’s studies.

Arts, Cultural Management, and Museum Studies – Master of Arts (MA)Prepare for a leadership position related to the management and advocacy of arts and cultural organizations or industry dimensions of an artistic and humanistic entrepreneurial career.

Collaborative Piano – Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA)Students take their love of piano to the next level with this program meant for elite artists, designed to help embrace and spread their talent far beyond their education.

Collaborative Piano – Master of Music (MMUS)Students can pursue their passion for piano further by combining selected aspects of the following learning opportunities: requisite course work; outreach and teaching experiences; and production, performance, or research projects.

CompositionThe composition program lies at the intersection of the creation, research, and performance of music and sound with other art forms. Engage in interactive performance, video and film, installation, instrument design, and improvisation.

Digital storytellingDigital storytelling is the foundation for the world of media. Students are prepared for a multitude of career paths—film, digital advertising, new media—anything that involves using sound and image to entertain, inform, and/or educate.

EnglishIdentify, assess, and confront the types of complexities that surface in all social environments, including the workplace. Students in English learn critical thinking and writing, creativity, and problem-solving skills necessary for a constantly changing world.

English – Doctor of Philosophy (PHD)Explore an advanced study of English, Anglophone, and some comparative literature at the doctoral level in a range of theoretical orientations and interdisciplinary, cross-field areas of study.
